Greif and Anger
Ann Boxley for a week now sleep has been difficult to obtain, rivers has run from her eyes. She has been in grief since the murder of her wife Alice. They had been together now for over 18 years. Last Thursday Ann’s life has changed forever, when Luan Boxley had murdered her lover. Now the grief has turned to anger, and Ann knows she going to need help with the dreadful, devilish chore that must be done. She knows the only one she can trust for this choir, she will have to make the trip, two counties over to visit with Benjiman.
Luan has been in hiding since the murder, Ann plans to find his hideout, prior to leaving to talk to Benjamin, which now weighs over 500 pounds, quick as lightening though. Ann has seen the direction that Luan has gone in the past, to her it seemed as though he just vanished. Prior to the murder Luan had disappeared several times. He always returned but not always the same day.
Ann has hunted some in her life, so she puts on her ghillie suit and packs a small bag of food and water. She plans to be part of nature and be invisible for as long necessary to find Luan’s hideout. She must know where it is before she obtains Ben’s help.
After 2 days with nature, she sees something, it’s like another dimension opens she see deep inside this opening reds, oranges and yellows, it reminds her of a campfire. The glow is intense it couldn’t be a campfire she has never seen a campfire so intense. After a few moments she see a man’s, shape coming from this other dimension. Dressed in black silken pants; has a black silken jacket the bottom two buttons a snaped close with a red sliver of shirt showing though above the buttons. As he walks out, she can see it is Luan. She almost gasp but caught herself, she new he would kill her, as he did her lover.
Luan is now gone; the other dimension has closed. She must find out how to get in before Luan returns. She goes over to the area and can see no signs of the opening. She looks for any lever, buttons or the like and is unable to find anything. After Two hours she hears rustling in the path coming towards her. Hiding now as she watches Luan come down and he bends down, brushes a couple leaves off a hidden rock as he lifts the rock from one edge, she is now looking at the intense glow again. Luan walks in and then that dimension closes and nothing there but trees a few boulders and the leaf covered ground. This is beginning of fall following when covid 19 had come to the USA in January of this year. The fall colors have been beautiful this year, which she was able to catch the beginning of this prior to the murder of Alice. Since then, her life has been gray and turning very dark gray, it is black now.
With knowing how to get into Luan hide-out/another dimension, she goes home and try to sleep which still doesn’t come. The bright orange ball comes up though her Livingroom window, she knows she must go. It’s a three-hour ride by her trusty ford pick-up truck; she had bought it on her birthday June 5th; when Luan was twelve years old. It normally takes Ben all day of travel, when his family and himself comes to visit Ann and Alice. Ben knows nothing about the horrific murder yet.
After a three-hour truck ride Ann is now in the same county as Ben but two hours from getting to his lake side oasis. The travel now is by foot only. Ann has made this trip a few times over the years, but Ben and his family are the ones usually traveling most every spring to see Ann and Alice.
After a two hour Walk Ann sees Ben sitting on the ponds bank with a fishing pole in his hand. Ben has also been sad he lost two of his family recently also. This was when covid was at it worst in the early spring. This occurred while his family was visiting Ann and Alice. As Ann approaches Ben, he hears her coming and turns and says, this is a pleasant surprise Ben sa_ , as he noticed Ann looked horrible with fresh rivers running down her checks. What’s wrong honey; Ben said. Aaahhh it’sss Alliccee she dead, ahhh no I mean s_ been muuurrrdered. Let me guess that bastard did it; didn’t he. He could tell by the look on her face, that what had happened. Let’s go in with Luna she has been preparing a late lunch for us. I’m sure she will have a plenty for you also. I will try to eat it’s been eleven days since she has had a proper meal. She has eaten mostly snack foods to get her by. Also, her water intake hasn’t been good. She has had drinking more, mad dog 20 20 then she has ever had in her life. I don’t even like the stuff, but it has kept me a little sane. Especially when I passed out.
They go in and Luna eyes brightens; then turns grey what’s wrong honey. This time she comes right out and says Alice was murdered by that bastard Luan. Luna goes Ohhh Myy Gooddd honey; I am so sorry. Ben has always believed him to be a bad pers_. Ben says he not just a bad person he is the fucking devil.
Let’s eat then we can talk a little, Ann asks Luna if she still has any marijuana, and Ann says she always has some on hand, just for these situations. She says roll me two double cigars if you don’t mind for me, prior to eating. It may help my mood slightly and give me the munchies. Luna promptly rolls her two and tells her that she wants her to stop all the alcohol intake, that’s very bad for her. She agrees to stop as she goes outside and sets next to the lake on a bench.
Luna has roasted turkey with smashed taters and gravy and some turnip greens for lunch. Ann was able to clean her plate in record time. I guess that marijuana gave me the munchies. Luna and Ben was very glad she ate. Her face had begun to shrink from not eating prop_.
After lunch Ben asked, if she was able to talk about everything. She said yes as long she can have another cigar before starting.
Even with the marijuana, Ann’s rivers are flowing again, as she relives what had happened to Alice. She first tells Ben that she was an idiot when he had warned her a couple times of his feelings and belief of Luan. I know now that you were right, you knew from just shortly after Luan birth. But I couldn_ well maybe I dindn’t want to believe what you had told me. Also, if I had listened to Allice, she would be alive now, as her river’s flows and is now bawling. I’m very vague as the cause of death. But here is what I know; Alice was in the kitchen and was reaching up into the cabinet to get a bowl or cup or something. Just as Luan walked by, she had a very sharp pain in her left side, her initial thought was she pulled a muscle in her side. As she set on the couch in less than a minute, she got so short of breath and then she thought she was having a myocardial infraction or MI. She then said, she don’t know how, but Luan had done this. I felt him kind of brush against me, then she said she had immediate pain in the left side, about in line with her nipple. I called for the ambulance I think she died, while I was on the phone. Ann must stop for a minute before stating I wasn’t even by her side when she died. The paramedics tried to revive her but told me they were sorry that they couldn’t restart her heart. The funeral home came and got the body. In an instant my life changed from extremely happy to complete devastation. I should have stayed by her side, at least she would have known I was there until the end. Luna said she knew that she knew that you on the phone trying to save her.
Ann says, Ben we have been here before and we met our challenge. I feel as though this may need to be even be a more extreme plan, that we must enact. I mean I hope you will help me again I haven’t asked you just assumed. Ben said you know I would never let you go about this on your own. If you wasn’t planning to do something to Luan, I would on my own. I don’t know what; but my cubs you know. You also know I have never liked that bastard and was terrified something disastrous was going to happen. Ben says should we start our plan. Ann said yes. Ok you and I can go out to the pond and chat. Luna says she would like to be a part of the plan. Ben asked Ann if she was ok with that, knowing the last plan was just the two of them. Luna stated before Ann could reply that she could be more objective then y’all two. Yall to personally involved and may not think as rational. I know yawls last plan worked out perfect. I will be affected by this if Ben loses his life, so I’m begging of the two of you to let me help plan. Ann said yes, she has no problem. Ben said OK Luna, but only the plan not the actual act of implementing of it. Luna agrees to only the plan. They worked on the plan by the pond for the next three days. They would break for meals which they all chipped in to help prepare. Ann is getting a little bit of meat back in her checks. She tells Luna sorry about all the marijuana; I have smoked most of your stock, I’ll pay you back. She said nonsense, this is still part of what had been Ceasars, prior to Lucifer making sure Ceasar was killed. They decided on early to bed and early to rise. Then Benijamin and Ann will go to her house. Ann was so worried for Ben and Ann also, but knew this had to be done. This whole area of the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia would be affected if the plan doesn’t work.
